June 25, 2016

The 55th Annual Kramer Reunion was held on June 25, 2016 at Reese Park in Silverdale, PA. There were 21 people in attendance.

After some socializing, we gathered for a tasty lunch, courtesy of our family members. Leftovers were set aside to use for dinner later on. The business meeting was then called to order by our President, Barry Hinkle. The minutes from last year were read by our Secretary, Bethanne Cassidy. The minutes were approved. Bob Hinkle gave the Treasurer's report. Last year we earned $129.50 from the auction, $38 from the silent auction, and $10.60 from donations. We paid out $100 back to Nancy Knapp for the park fee. This gave us a balance of $377.49. Next, we opened up the meeting to New News. There some births this year - Jonathon Lee was born to Chris & Heidi Fidler on December 2, 2015. Marilyn Kramer announced the birth of her great-grandson, Jude Douglas, born to Sean & Kate Kramer on May 10, 2016. An upcoming birth was also announced - Rachel Smith, daughter of the late Ron Hinkle, is expecting a baby, due October 6, 2016.  A letter from Kurt Kramer also announced the birth of a second grandchild, born to his daughter Jackie and her husband Eric - Hunter James Bohnenblust was born March 25, 2016. Sadly, we had one death this year - A letter from Ginny Kramer informed us of the death of Mark Kramer, who passed away on May 14, 2016, after some deteriorating health problems.

In other new family news, Donna Usavage told us that daughter Melissa Usavage has graduated from Macalester College with a Bachelor's degree. Also, daughter Allison Usavage is planning a July 2, 2016 wedding. Eileen Bengtson updated us with the news that she and husband, Paul, will be moving to Mystic, CT in the near future. Also her granddaughter Gwen, daughter of Bill & Paula Garrett has graduated from high school in Las Vegas and is preparing for college in the fall. Doris Bossert also told us about her 10 week visit to Cuba.

The Election of Officers was held with the same officers re-elected.

Janice Kramer also talked about the Kramer weekend held at her place this past fall, and that she and Doris Bossert will plan for another Kramer weekend the weekend of September 23-24, 2016. Emails will go out about a month ahead of time for sign-ups.  Rhonda Geyer then handed out our prestigious awards. The prize for Traveling the Furthest went to Janice Kramer, who traveled from Gaines, PA (260 miles); the Oldest Man Present went to Paul Bengtson, 87 years; the Oldest Woman Present went to Nancy Knapp, 78 years; the Most Recently Married couple was Rhonda & Brian Geyer, 17 years; the Longest Married couple was Molly & Joe Fidler, 50 years; the Youngest Child Present was Samantha Usavage, age 20. Random prizes were given by 'picking a name' and went to Greg Usavage and Betsy Hinkle.

The winner of How Many Candies In The Jar went to Molly Fidler, who guessed 189 - the actual number was 186. There were no correct guesses for What's In The Box. After some group guessing, Eileen Bengtson guessed correctly with Lotion.

We took a break to play some games, and then Bob Hinkle ran our annual Auction of wrapped goodies. We also then awarded the winners of the Silent Auction items.

The rest of the afternoon was filled with socializing and having dinner from the leftovers from lunch.
